Hi, Welcome to my world, Ross's world! I'm a five year old black lab mix, a big boy at about 75 pounds. I'm considered a gentle soul who will do very well as a first dog for a couple or a companion for an older person. I was adopted and then returned for piddling in the house, but this has never been an issue in my foster home because I am allowed out on a regular basis. (A guy can only hold it so long, you know.)
I'm friendly and always ready to be petted, sometimes I will come looking for pets. I am not destructive in the house, but my foster Mom suggests limiting me to a small part of my home at first and then letting me have more freedom. She does keep me out of rooms that are seldom used. I rarely bark, I love to ride in the car, I love to be outside. I do mark my territory. I'm good with other dogs. I am not sure about children or cats, but my foster Mom thinks I would probably be fine if introduced properly, but no guarantees.
I do seem to have some fear issues. I really don't like hardwood floors or vacuum cleaners. Sometimes I flinch if a hand is brought directly to my face, my foster Mom has learned to hold her hand out and let me come put my head under it, or she pets me on the side or back. If you are looking for a big, gentle, friendly dog as a companion, check me out.
