5-6 years old, approx. 69 lbs, gentle and sweet and just happy to be alive - Prince Albert was rescued from Carrol Crocker's Green Acres Sanctuary, which is being shut down due to arsonists and just plain mean people in Northern AL. (Google Carol Crocker fire and you will be able to read the full story.) All of the dogs there are being taken in by rescues around the country before the city comes to shoot whoever remains. Prince Albert is being fostered in Hoover, AL and is being a perfect gentleman. He even walks on a leash with no problems, even though he has never been on a leash before. He loves other dogs and is good with cats. He just wants a family to love him. Reduced Adoption Fee applies to Prince Albert. For more information, please visit our website and fill out an application for adoption. All dogs are fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, spayed/neutered. Prince Albert has also been micro-chipped.
About Our Rescue Group...DOGS DESERVE BETTER is a nonprofit organization dedicated to freeing the chained dog, and bringing our 'best friend' into the home and family.Dogs Deserve Better, 2003 First Place Winner of the ASPCA/Chase Pet Protector Award, is a voice for chained and penned dogs, whose sadness speaks only through the eyes. As the days become years, many of these dogs sit, lay, eat, and defecate within the same 10-foot radius. Chained by the neck, they exist without respect, love, exercise, social interaction, and sometimes even basic nourishment. They live as prisoners, yet long to be pets. For more information about chained dogs, and to find out how you can help, please go to the website www.dogsdeservebetter.org.**We are an Alabama chapter of www.dogsdeservebetter.org**
An adoption agreement and home check are required, as well as $150 fee which will include spay/neuter , UTD on all vaccines, heart worm prevention, fecal, and flea/tick prevention.
