Sophie is a bichon puppy. She is about 8 months old and weighs only about 8 to 10 lbs. She will definitely not get much bigger than this. Sophie has been spayed and is currently in a DVBR foster home. She is completely housetrained and incredibly affectionate with her trusted foster parents. Sophie does have one issue though...she is aggressive around people she doesn't know until she accepts them & learns to trust them. She adores her foster-dad and he can do absolutely anything to her or with her with no problem whatsoever. The problem is when new people come to visit. In those situations he has to be very careful to put her in another room and not allow her to be anywhere near visitors. She will also act aggressively if she is in the car & sees people outside. In those cases she barks in the car, wanting to get to those people. Her foster-dad describes this as 'fear aggression'. In a quiet household that understands this behavior and can accept it, Sophie will be a beloved member of the family. She doesn't react this way around family...she only does it with new people. If you are willing to consider adopting a dog like Sophie, pls. contact us for more information. Sophie will not be placed in a home with small children, or in a first-time dog family. A quiet household with dog-savvy owners would be the best place for Sophie. We believe she is adoptable to the right family, but she definitely needs to be handled with firm, loving, dog-savvy understanding. Sophie LOVES to play with the other dogs in her foster family. She's fine with the cat as well. Keep reading to learn more about our policies and procedures if you are interested in Sophie. A photo of Sophie will be added as soon as we get one from her foster family. She's ADORABLE!!!
