DVBR has been experiencing monumental computer issues over the last few weeks. The end result of these issues is that as of 6/26/09 we lost ALL data stored on our computer system when we were forced to do a 'system restore'. As a result, all previously-filed applications were lost. If you are a recent applicant who is still looking for a new friend, please re-apply as soon as possible. At this point we believe the issue has been resolved, but we have lost all previous data. We apologize for this inconvenience and we thank you for your understanding!!!
JoJo just arrived yesterday. He came from a family in the Harrisburg area. They gave him up to a 'friend of their brother's' who let Jo Jo out where he was just running on the streets for about three weeks. Then this 'friend' went to jail. The only reason Jo Jo's original family found out what was going on was because Jo Jo was microchipped, so when he was caught and scanned, they were contacted. They went to get him but still didn't want to keep him so they gave him to a neighbor. The neighbor kept Jo Jo in a SHED in the backyard!!! Whew! Needless to say, Jo Jo is a lucky little guy to have found his way to us. We are posting 'before' and 'after' pictures. The before pictures really do not illustrate just how bad he was. He clearly had not been groomed in a LONG time. Add to that his time running the streets, and we picked up a matted, filthy, stinky dog! As you can see, although he has no hair at this point, he's clean and in MUCH better shape than when he started. Jo Jo needs to be neutered and brought up to date on shots, and all this will be done prior to him leaving. He has not had an accident in the house so far, although he's been in his foster home only one day. He does a lot of marking outside, but all dogs do that and as long as it's outside it doesn't really matter. Right now Jo Jo is a bit nervous and apprehensive. He will come around though...again, he just arrived. Here is a brief preliminary write-up from Jo Jo's foster family:
