7 yr old Frannie came to us when a veterinarian’s office called to ask us to take her into rescue. Her owner had requested that she be euthanized as she was costing him too much money. However, we feel there is more to the story, a story that we will probably never know.
Frannie is a strong, extremely intelligent dog who can easily take over a household if allowed to. She needs a strong, intelligent, gentle, loving and firm adopter.
The cornea in one of her eyes is damaged. The ophthalmologist feels the injury to her eye is consistent with a chemical burn. She needs to have daily eyedrops to keep the eye comfortable and prevent her losing all of the sight in that eye.
She is not good around all dogs; she picks and chooses with whom she will be a friend and whom she will pick on. She will be placed as an only dog.
Frannie loves to be cuddled. She hates to be made to do anything that she hasn’t thought of and decided was a good thing.
She has started obedience lessons and loves them! This is an intelligent dog who needs to work! She has learned to sit, lay down and 'shake'. Frannie and her adopter will be required to continue obedience training (positive reinforcement).
