Bilbo is a 1yo male purebred beagle who was abandoned along a lonely country road in Arkansas. Bilbo is friendly and well-socialized with a medium activity level. Loves to run and play outside, but then settles down quickly in the house. Likes to go for walks, loves to be with people, enjoys being petted and brushed. Good with kids and recommended for children 6 yrs and older. Great with cats and other dogs. Bilbo absolutely LOVES other dogs, so much so that a dug buddy is a requirement for Bilbo's forever home. Also, Bilbo will need a fenced yard because he's very private and won't do his business on a leash. Not only that, but hounds will follow a scent right out of the yard and on down the road, so he needs a fenced yard. Good on a leash, rides great in the car. Knows basic commands. Housebroken and crate-trained. No issues such as separation anxiety, counter surfing or barking. Weighs about 17#, healthy, altered and utd on shots. Here's a note from his foster mom: ' Bilbo was dumped at the end of our road and it took 2 weeks for him to trust us. We picked 1000 ticks off him for 8 hours after rescue. Now Bilbo is the most snuggly and affectionate dog ever, forever thankful for love. He plays hard, sleeps hard, then plays hard again! He LOVES LOVES LOVES other dogs and needs them to be happy. Bilbo enjoys being held upside down in your arms, enjoys sleeping in bed with humans (he likes to share the same head pillow).
