Description:
Zach is a handsome 1 year old, 17' tall male Beagle who weighs about 28 lbs. Pulled from animal control, Zach is now living in foster care and adjusting well. His house manners are good, too: he's already reliably potty trained and crate trained. Zach is still very much a puppy, and would be best suited for a household where he can run and play and burn off all that puppy energy on a regular basis. He loves being outside where he can put his nose to use. He can sniff for hours and can be vocal when he gets on the scent of something interesting. Zach would do best in a home with prior Beagle experience and who understands his desire to sniff outdoors and tune out his human occasionally. Zach is a smart boy who will do well with obedience training so that he bonds with his new owner and understands what is expected of him. His foster mom is teaching him some basics, and he walks politely on a leash. He is crated when his foster Mom isn't home, since he has been known to get into mischief (puppy chewing) when left loose unattended. Have a dog already who needs a companion? Zach gets along great with other dogs and would enjoy having another 4-legged pal to play with. He is a bit taller than his foster brothers, but he doesn't seem to notice. This boy is very friendly, likes kids over 5, sometimes he is too playful for smaller children and might knock them down), and he loves to kiss and snuggle. Zach is extremely quick and has been known to bolt out the door, so he will require a securely fenced yard with the fence at least 6' high (he practically has 'springs' on his back legs!) Zach is up-to-date on all shots, neutered and has finished heartworm treatment. He is also on medication for mild urinary incontinence. The medication is added to his food and not too expensive. If you have the time for a new friend and the patience to train him, you will be rewarded with a lifetime of love and companionship!
