Can't adopt but want to help? Please email the contact above to find out about sponsorship, fostering, and other ways you can help this animal! Please note that financial sponsorship will be applied to the specific animal you indicate unless it is not needed, at which time we will let you designate it for another HT animal of your choice.
You can save animals by becoming a foster! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters, so that they have more time to find a permanent family. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please click here.

Hi, my name is Dottie. I’m a 4-5 year old beagle girl who hasn’t had the best of lives thus far. I weigh about 25-30 pounds. Maybe I was born under an unlucky star but I’m hoping that my luck will soon change. You see, I was raised as a hunting beagle. I was raised to live in an outdoor pen with other dogs and eventually, my owner decided that I wasn’t exactly what he wanted in a hunting dog. So, what did he do with me? He took me out and dumped me in the woods. Maybe he thought that if I could smell my way back home, that I’d prove my worth? I don’t know but as luck would have it, I never made it back home. I landed in a shelter where I can’t say for sure but I don’t think that I’m living at the Ritz yet. I have my own dog house and some other dogs as friends but what I really dream of is getting a nice family of my own. Yes, I want that special person who will love me all the rest of my days, give me hugs and kisses, and maybe take me for trips to the beach or mountains. I would consider myself one lucky dog if only that person could find me. There was once a saying that for every pot there is a lid, well I think that I’m a good fit for someone. Please adopt me today! Oh, and one more thing, I’m probably not housetrained since I was raised as an outdoor dog but that does NOT mean that I’m unwilling to learn. After all, I want to learn new things and housetraining is one that I do want to master very soon. Breed Estimate: beagle mix Gender: female Approximate weight: 25-30 pounds Approximate age: 4-5 years old Location: outdoor rural shelter wishing upon a star that you'll adopt or foster me The adoption fee for this dog is $275, which covers the cost of routine vet care, as well as spay/neuter surgery.
