This rescue boy has all the makings to be a faithful companion for someone. He has a docked tail, so when he wags it, his whole body wiggles. He is very quiet and laid back, sometimes I don't even know he is at my house. When he is with you, he stays by your side, and bonds pretty quickly to people. He does not bark at all unless he hears a stranger approaching, then he will give a warning bark. He walks well on a leash, he rides well in a crate, and he is the type of dog you look forward to seeing when you get home. Not destructive, very mellow and not needy. He is fearful of other dogs, but I walked him last night with my Jack Russell, and he did fantastic. With slow introduction to other dogs over time, he should be fine, but with overbearing 'in your face' dogs he will get nippy with them. I have confidence that he will learn to be part of a pack with time, but for now we are taking baby steps. He has been evaluated by a trainer, and has been given a course of action. We are looking for a person that has no other pets and just wants a loyal companion.Gunther is approx. 6 years old, housetrained, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and deflead. Adult only home preferred. Adoption Application required.
