~CODY~Cody, a male, neutered, heartworm negative, current on shots, and microchipped dog was rescued from a local animal control only hours before he would have been euthanized. Cody is on heartworm preventative. Cody will be three years old in May of 07. He is a very loving dog, but being an Aussie mix, he is very vocal, and loves to run. He would make a wonderful protector as he is house trained, crate trained, will bark when doorbell rings, someone knocks on doors or he hears something out of the ordinary and gets along with most dogs. I would not recommend that he be around cats. He has not harmed any of my cats, but is VERY interested in them. He can play rough when he wants to with other dogs, and at the moment, he does jump up on people. I would recommend training for him not to jump up on people. Cody will require a fenced yard, and be required to be a indoor dog. He is fine in a back yard with a six foot privacy fence at his foster home, and would be ok left out doors for up to four hours, but not during temperatures over 80 or in cold weather. He demands attention and love. I would not recommend children under 10 as he is a jumper on people and his size (approx 50 pounds) might knock some younger children down. Cody was very shy and leery when rescued and would not come to the foster mom at the beginning, but learned we were to be trusted and started his demand for attention. He does not like men particularly, so a female family would be best for him; however, in time he may warm up to a male in the household. He has come out of his shell a lot since May of 2006 when he was rescued. Cody loves water and a kiddie pool would suit him just fine. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING!
