Roscoe is a beautiful, fun-filled, energetic youngster. He is a pure Australian Shepherd which is in the herding dog family. This means that he was bred for the job of herding livestock and therefore has lots of energy and gets bored very easily. He was previously a backyard dog because his owners were allergic to him. The only training he has had so far is to learn the sit command, and he is currently learning to walk on the leash properly. Obedience class for basic manners is highly recommended for this guy. Roscoe will need a family that understands his need for a job and is willing to work with him and provide things for him to do. He is not a dog that will be suitable as a 'backyard dog' as he needs lots of interaction and physical activity. When properly trained, Australian Shepherds excell in dog obedience, agility, flyball, herding trials and other canine events. If you think you will be able to accomodate his needs, please consider making Roscoe part of your family. Roscoe is 7 months old and weighs 37 pounds.
