URGENT!The Taunton Animal Shelter, like most shelters, is filling up fast. Billy has been at the shelter for awhile so needs to find a home soon! Please come visit this handsome and fun fellow and maybe you will find that lifelong companion you've been looking for! Approx 1 year old, Billy was surrendered to the Taunton Animal Shelter because his owner had to move. He is one handsome guy - with markings that make him 'stand out in a crowd'. Billy is a happy and friendly guy who loves playing with all kinds of toys.... He just needs someone to play with! :) He especially loves to play fetch! And it turns out, Billy loves the water! He would be well-suited for an active person/family who would include him in lots of activities. He would enjoy and benefit from obedience training, as he is smart and learns very quickly! We recommend no toddlers. Breed knowledge is preferred. A fenced yard would be ideal. Most towns, especially smaller towns, cannot afford to pay for these services and supplies; Animal Control is woefully underfunded and so dogs are adopted out intact, with the ability to produce more puppies who then may end up back at shelters and town pounds. For injured or ill dogs, the chances are grim since there's no money to pay for exams, x-rays or medications, let alone surgeries. Budgets are so tight, some Animal Control Officers pay for supplies out of their own pocket!
