Description:
Please contact Harriet (hszucker@mac.com) for more information about this pet. Please meet CINNAMON , a 4 year old gal who was surrendered by her owner on 3/24/09 because her daughter is very sick. This illness is serious enough that the entire dynamic of the family changed. Poor Cinnamon was caught up in the tragedy of what had happened, and she nearly paid with her life, too. She was on the euthanasia list at the city shelter when a rescuer saved her mere hours before the morning deadline. Before Cinnamon was signed over to the municipal shelter, her owner told intake that this dog loves men, women, children, other dogs AND cats, is housetrained, and obedient. She said that Cinnamon knows 'sit', and will wait automatically until she is served at mealtime. She also told that shelter that Cinnamon has been around children her entire life, having been raised with 5 little ones. I found Cinnamon to be a typical 'wiggle-butt' dog---very happy and kissy, always thumping her tail around. She is so friendly to everyone, no matter who they are or how they approach her! She is 45 pounds of people pleasing joy. She's got energy to spare, of course, because she's young--- but she's willing and able to absorb further training. We are looking for a temporary, short term foster for Cinnamon while we line up her forever family. This foster would have to welcome Cinnamon into their home and give her as close to a 'real' pet experience as they could. In return, this person would not only be saving this dog's life, but also soothing the 5 heartbroken children who loved her, want her back, and don't want to see her go. Cinnamon has so much to give, so much life, so many years left. She's not perfect, but she's a goodhearted animal who will warm your heart . If you have space for a pup like her, please contact me by responding to this ad. Many thanks for your compassion and attention!
