Poor Trooper was hit by a car in down town Jackson and left lying in the middle of the street. A kind passer by stayed with him until CARA staff could arrive. He had a head injury. It was a Sunday night. No vets were open. Trooper was given something for pain and swelling and no one expected him to be alive the next day to go to a vet. But happily, he surprised us all and is now making his new home at CARA while he waits for someone to see him and say 'this is the dog for me'. He has turned out to be the sweetest, most grateful guy in the shelter. No doubt, he was never shown any affection and revels in the attention we give him. He'll sit by your side for hours to be petted. Trooper walks well on leash, gets along with other dogs and is kid friendly. He rides great in the car. His accident left him with a slight facial disfigurement but it makes him all the more endearing. Don't be put off by his breed. You won't find a sweeter pet.
