Description:
Haynes is a neutered male American Staffordshire. He is approximately 1-2 years old, has short, black with white tuxedo markings and is approximately 55 pounds. Here’s what Haynes told us: “I was abandoned and left in a rural area where I was running for what seemed like forever. I would keep running up to cars, even followed some down the middle of the road if they passed by me. I was hoping to find my family. A lot of people stopped to try to help, but, they weren’t ‘my people’, and I would take off running again. It never occurred to me that my family just tossed me away like yesterdays trash. The only thing that I knew was the old loyalty thing-continue to look until all else fails. After a few days running in the same area, I came across a new friend- a cute little pug mix who was tied in his yard. ( I have to say-we made a cute picture-both of us sitting side by side) We became buddies, and I decided to chew his leash so he could run with me. It seems he knew nothing about the streets either! Luckily, a neighbor saw us, and lured us into their garage. That is kind of where my new life began. I ended up at the shelter, where I surprised everyone with how fast I could get attached once I had some attention. I already know some commands, but, my favorite thing is the old pit bull semi sloppy kiss. I’m learning to walk a bit better on a leash, and I’m putting some weight on ( you could see my ribs and spine when I came in). I also just got back from my vet visit, not too bad, got ‘the works’ done. I’m great with most other dogs, I would just like to meet them slowly at first. I need some work with cats, but, again-also improving on that. I’m looking for a family with older kids, a fenced yard, and some experience with my breed. I’m so good,(not to mention-handsome)I want to make sure I have a home for life this time!.”
