Please contact Delaney (unchainbama@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.
Gage has been living at the Vet's office for going on 2 years. He was found by the Dr living under a bridge with a homeless guy & had been hit by a car! He is all ixed up now.He was temperament tested by a BBR volunteereed and has no issues to speak of except the need for lots of exercise & house training (b/c of living in a kennel) He seemed more affection motivated than treats, so should be pretty easy to train. He will need someone willing to exercise him. He has lots of energy that's been bottle up for a while, but he isn't obnoxious at all.Gage is a gorgeous boy who will make some lucky family or individual a great companion!!An application for adoption must be filled out along with home/vet check. Gage will require a fenced in yard.
About Our Rescue Group... DOGS DESERVE BETTER is a nonprofit organization dedicated to freeing the chained dog, and bringing our 'best friend' into the home and family. Dogs Deserve Better, 2003 First Place Winner of the ASPCA/Chase Pet Protector Award, is a voice for chained and penned dogs, whose sadness speaks only through the eyes. As the days become years, many of these dogs sit, lay, eat, and defecate within the same 10-foot radius. Chained by the neck, they exist without respect, love, exercise, social interaction, and sometimes even basic nourishment. They live as prisoners, yet long to be pets. For more information about chained dogs, and to find out how you can help, please go to the website www.dogsdeservebetter.org. **We are an Alabama chapter of www.dogsdeservebetter.org** An adoption agreement and home check are required. There will be an adoption donation for all animals. This donation pays for the vetting the animal before adoption. This includes shots, deworming, spaying or neutering, and a rabies shot. We do provide out-of-state adoptions.
