Looking for my forever home!
My name is Amber, and I am a 2 year old am staff girl, looking for a new home. I was spending my days hanging out with the girls at the local impound. They are great, don't get me wrong, but I wanted to get out of there. I like being around kids and I just love people! I think I would be good with other dogs if I was introduced right. Now, I'm in a foster home, where they'll love me and take care of me until I find my forever home.
I have a lot of energy, and I like to look at everything that moves, and try to figure out what it is. I saw a bird at the pound yesterday, and it was in a cage, and I got all excited and started jumping around and talking to it, and making all kinds of funny noises. The lady that came to play with me, said that I could not play with the bird, (can't figure out why!), but she had her 4 year old son with her, and so I played with him instead. They said that they aren't sure how I am with cats, because they haven't had time to introduce me to them yet, but with me getting so excited about the bird, it could take awhile for me to learn to leave them alone. But I would try hard .
I would love to go for long walks with you, and maybe learn how to run next to you while you ride your bike. I really like to run!!! But a good night in front of the TV, curled up on the couch next to you would be the best part of my day. Please won't you love me? I would love you back 100 times over.
Sincerely yours, Amber
UPDATE FROM AMBERS FOSTER HOME:She hasn't shown any interest in toys yet, but I think she will. She joined the squirrel eradication patrol of our yard. I can only imagine the fear the squirrel felt when he noticed there were 4 dogs circling the dog house he was hiding under.
She's super sweet and loves to snuggle, sometimes she's a bit overzealous and paws us in the face when she's trying to get attention. We're working on some manners.
She is potty trained. She goes to the door when she needs to go out. YAY!
She's okay with one of the cats, but gets excited by the other two more active, vocal cats. (She barks at them when they hiss or meow at her.) We're working on that as well.
She's been wrestling and playing with both of the male dogs and yesterday was sleeping in bed with the female dog (I was in the other room so it was something the two of them decided by themselves). I love it when they all get along!
She had a bath and was shaking with fear while in the tub, but was very well-behaved and doesn't seem to have any ill-feelings towards the bathroom now. She's been wandering in and out of it since her bath. She was too scared to give kisses while she was getting scrubbed clean, but as soon as we started drying her off, she was her normal happy self.
At night she's been sleeping in bed with us. She's a great girl and willmake someone an excellent baby.
