I am Storm, a beautiful American Staffordshire terrier. That’s just a fancy name for a Pitt Bull. Some people are afraid of me because of my breed but I’ll tell you what, I’m just a big love bug. I am what you would call a cuddler. If you give me the chance I’ll crawl right into your lap and snuggle with you. I love people. Because of my breed I am very strong and muscular. Even though I love kids of all ages I might accidentally knock over a little kid and not even realize I’ve done it. The people at St. Francis think it would be better if I went to a home with older kids like teenagers or just adults. I’d have a harder time knocking them over.
Something I don’t love though is cats (or squirrels or other small furry animals). For some reason I just never took a liking to them and would probably hurt them if I ever caught one. So, when I get adopted I absolutely cannot go to a home with cats or very small dogs. But that’s OK, as long as I have people to play with. Because of the possibility that I might hurt a smaller animal I need to live in a home that has a fenced in yard. That would be perfect for me. Sometimes I think other dogs are fun to play with. I’m very hesitant about meeting new dogs though. It can take me quite a while to warm up to a new dog. I might need a whole month before I decide if I like another dog or not. But, when I decide a dog is OK I have loads of fun playing with them.
I am a very smart girl and am eager to learn. I’m housebroken and well behaved (but sometimes I chew on things if they get left on the floor.) Even though I’m a loving, smart, good looking girl I should be adopted by someone who has experience with handling a strong dog like me. I can be stubborn sometimes too and need someone who can be firm, but kind. I’ve been looking for a family for a long time and am ready to settle down. If you want a dog to love you forever, I’m your girl.
