Description:
Pretzel is at risk for being returned to the NYC high kill shelter due to his current foster being no longer able to take care of him. He is a silly affectionate 3 yr old neutered Staffie mix. He made it out of the high kill shelter with the help of the volunteers who found him to be a super affectionate dog. He was rated No Concern by the shelter, and received a perfect score on his Safer test. He is not at all aggressive, just wants to be with you and wiggle his body with the joy of your company. He gets along great with other dogs and children over 5 yrs. He has not been tested with cats. He has started to exhibit separation anxiety, however, as his current foster has had to work very long hours. Current foster would like to find him a new foster/adopter as she does not have enough time for him now. Pretzel would do best in a home where he has a fair amount of human companionship. He is a victim of being abandoned then subjected to the stress of a high kill shelter, then being moved from place to place. He needs a person who can be his leader and a secure environment. Pretzel is neutered, and has had all necessary shots and is microchipped. He is very healthy. If interested in fostering or adopting Pretzel, kindly contact Heart and Hand Society, a Mayors Alliance rescue organization, at 917-519-0594. Here is what the shelter said about him: 3 yr old male brown Staffie. 41 pounds – NO CONCERN! We named him Pretzel because of the way he wiggles so much he bends like a pretzel. This is one awesome dog! It is shocking that he came in as a stray because he is fantastic. He is so happy, constantly looking to give kisses and seeks affection. He is a no concern and he had a perfect eval!
