Description:
All dogs adopted from the Chequamegon Humane Association are spayed or neutered, vaccinated for distemper, rabies, and kennel cough, and dewormed. A tax-deductible adoption fee of $120 is required for every dog and puppy adoption. An application is required to adopt.Dakota was transferred to CHA from another rescue where she had been waiting for a home for a long time. Unfortunately, a lot of people have negative preconceptions about American Staffordshire Terriers or 'Pit Bull' mixes, but we're here to tell you that Dakota is one great dog! If you are looking for a fun loving, energetic, loyal best friend- look no further!! Dakota is the dog for you. This beautiful dog has come a long way from the skinny stray we picked up on the side of the highway. Dakota is about 12-18 months old and has the energy to prove it. She would make an EXCELLENT hiking, jogging or biking buddy- and at the end of the day, a wonderful couch companion. Dakota is fixed, has been dewormed, is UTD on all of her shots, is negative for HW, lymes, ehrlichia and anaplasmosis, AND has been DNA tested. (WOW!) With the help of MAPS (Midwest Area Pit Stop) we were able to get Dakota DNA tested. She is a VERY UNIQUE mix. Her DNA work told us that Dakota is a mix of: American Staffordshire Terrier, Boxer, Bulldog, Cairn Terrier, Clumber Spaniel and Doberman Pinscher. We've always thought that Dakota is one of a kind- but now her DNA proves it!!Dakota is excellent with other dogs, she has never met a dog she doesn't like. Unfortunately, Dakota likes cats a little too much and would really like them to be served up with BBQ sauce-this also applies to chickens. Dakota spent several weeks in foster care and her foster dad described her as being very eager to please and a very trainable and intelligent dog. If you think Dakota sounds like she might be the dog you've been looking for, contact us today. We've done everything we can for her, only you can provide her with a home!
