**Updated pictures coming soonAkemi is Japanese for 'Bright Beauty'.Update 12/04/2008: Akemi has been returned to rescue. We were told that the adopters could not keep her contained. However she has been here for a little over a week now and we have had no problems at all containing her. She hasn't even gone near the fences. She may have been contained in too small of a run, bored, and/or needed more socializing with her family. After all pitts are notorious for wanting to be with their families (or in some cases strangers-- whoever will give them attention really!!). They love attention, trainig, and excercise-- they are extremely bright-- so Akemi does need an active family that can take her jogging, hiking, bike riding, horseback riding, or even just playing with oother dogs in a park. She is a bright, young pup that is eager to please. We were told she was hyper and difficult to control-- we don't see it. They claimed to have taken her to obedience classes, but may not have worked with her enough to really get the commands down. She would benefit greatly from consistancy. We are hoping to place her in a FOREVER home with a family that will actually take the time with her she needs. She is high energy and needs frequent walks and/or playtime with her family and/or other dogs. I must say she is great with the other dogs and loves playing with the pack. She is a very loving girl and has had no accidents as of yet in the house!! So we do believe she is housetrained. We will continue working with her on basic commands. Previous post from when she was a baby---'We loved the Japanese name Tadashi's adopter gave him so much that we decided to follow suit and give all the pups Japanese names that we believe describe them and their breed to the public. Words we believe are true and fitting for Pit Bulls.
Akemi is one of 11 babies born to Angelina on March 13, 2008 at the Valencia County Animal Control. Animal Control was shocked that she had so many. She was extremely thin and everybody knew that the only chance this small family had was to go into a rescue. So the shelter sent out a plea for help- knowing what a wonderful dog the momma was. Almost Home NM answered that call. We have extensive knowledge of the bully breeds and knew we could raise them with the best possible temperaments and find them the best homes. VCAC was kind enough to deliver the whole family to our property and they have been flourishing ever since!!!
Every puppy in this group is different!! Akemi is very cute and loving.
Akemi's adoption fee is $125 it includes her spay, puppy shots, a training DVD, rabies vaccine, her collar and tags, a 1 month supply of Pedigree dog food, and all the support you need to make this adoption work..Please e-mail us to request an adoption application. Once we get it back we can set up an appointment for you to come out and meet this sweet, little girl!!!
