Tess is an adorable two year old buckskin female American Pit Bull Terrier. This sweetheart has found herself in need of a home after being found on the streets of Decatur around Thanksgiving 2007. She's been in a foster home with her original rescuer since then, but the rescuer has a dog of her own that is not happy about Tess being there, so it's not possible for her to remain in her foster home permanently. Tess has been spayed and is heartworm negative and current on shots.Tess is a fast learner and responds well to gentle verbal correction. She's eager to please and just wants to please her person. She does well in the car, loves toys, treats, and attention. She walks well on leash, and makes no complaints about being bathed, groomed, handled all over, or having items removed from her mouth. She loves people of all sizes, but does not like cats. She interacts well with other dogs, though due to the Pit Bull's tendency for same sex dog aggression, Tess will not be placed in a home with other female dogs. Tess is also housebroken and crate trained.
