Description:
swet, cute dog for adoption Courtesy listingDear God, It’s me Libby. Sorry I haven’t spoken to you in a while, but to be honest I thought that you forgot about me. I was alone on the streets for a long time. I didn’t have any friends and I was so hungry. Every day was so hard and lonely. Then I met a lady……..you didn’t have anything to do with that did you? I bet you did. She fed me food, because I was starving. She petted me and it was the first time in ages that anyone had been kind to me. I could tell she wanted me to go with her, but she couldn’t take me. She said her apartment didn’t allow Pit Bulls. I watched her pull out of the parking lot and I felt like I had lost my only friend in the world. She didn’t forget about me though, even though she lives several hours away from where she first saw me. She, along with some other volunteers, searched for me for over a week. By that time I was no longer living in the streets I had been put in a place with cages and lots of other dogs. The kind lady called the place and asked if I was there, but they told her that I wasn’t. Luckily, she didn’t believe them and sent someone to make sure. There I was alone in a cage. I heard them say that my time was already up, but I had been given a reprieve because of the 4th of July. So, they rescued me and named me Liberty, Libby for short. They said I was their Fourth of July miracle. Now, I live in a house with a bed of my own, toys to play with, other dogs, and my foster mom says she loves me. No one has ever said that to me before. I am so happy, but I know my stay here is only temporary, because my foster mom has a lot of special needs animals of her own. Even though she loves me, she wants the best possible home for me. God, I wanted to say thank you for saving me. I was at a point in my life that I had given up and I had forgotten that there are still kind people in the world. You have given me so much, but I have to ask for one more thing and then I promise to never ask for anything again. I need a home of my own. I would like someone who is active and will walk me. I have discovered that I walk well on a leash. I am good with dogs, but I am still protective of my food. I can’t help it, I was hungry for so long I still don’t understand that sharing is okay. I am a little too playful for cats. I like to bounce and try to play and chase them. I am trying to learn, but I think maybe it would be best to avoid the temptation all together and not have cats in the home. I promise to love the person you send me unconditionally. I will greet them every night at the door wagging my tail. I will be their loyal lifetime friend. I know I was saved for a reason and I think that reason was to become a part of someone’s family. To give them joy and to become the friend they have always wanted to have. I trust you to send me the special person that I am meant to be with. Thanks for remembering me and sending earth angels watch out for me. When I get adopted I promise to pay it forward to my new family………..they are going to get a lot of kisses from me, when I meet them!!!!!
