Description:
See Vanilla's Homepage Vanilla is located in Silver Spring, MD. Vanilla is an adorable American Eskimo who doesn't realize she is short one leg. She lost her right rear leg as a puppy (it got tangled in a window shade cord and required removal.) Vanilla forgets this is a concern to us two legged creatures as she runs and walks quite sprightly. She climbs steps without any problems. We observed she walks best on carpeting rather than hardwood floors. Her feet tend to slip out from under her on smooth surfaces. Vanilla spent ten years with her previous owner who recently passed away. Since then she has adapted quite well to her new foster home. Vanilla hopes to find a loving home where she will give unconditional love. Vanilla loves her food but she is very fit and weighs a trim 19 pounds. Vanilla might do best as an only pet because she has a splendid appetite and sharing food is not her strong suit. However, she often cuddles up with one of our other dogs. When you look into her sparkling eyes your heart will melt. Her greatest joy is to be by your side wherever your travels take you. She loves car rides and comes with her own car booster seat. If you're interested in Vanilla and would like more information, please contact gypsysalem@yahoo.com You can also visit our website and sign-up to fill out an adoption application and learn more about our adoption process. Vanilla is staying in Maryland until her new family comes along! Whenever possible Eskie Rescuers United tries to adopt out its dogs locally (or at least to adopters in adjoining states to where I'm being fostered). Please note that ERU processes LOCAL adoption applications before considering those from out of state. If I'm not local to you, as explained above, and you really have your heart set on me, you will have to make special arrangements so ERU can get me to you safely (for example, flying me to you at your own expense, or paying a transport group to drive me to you). Note: We may ask that you to make a donation to cover transport costs if the distance is great and we have trouble finding transport drivers. There is an adoption fee required; and, please be aware, Eskie Rescuers United will not adopt out its dogs as outdoor dogs. Eskie Rescuers United American Eskimo Dog Rescue, Inc. is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
