Hemi: neutered male American Bulldog, Very Shorthair. Large, solid. Approx: 100 pounds. All White. Approx: 3 years. Here’s what Hemi told us: “I was just another dog in the long line of animals who have been hit by the bad economy. Just another dog who is suddenly homeless and has no idea what I did wrong. I’m moving on from all that though. I’m settling in to my new home (temporary home) at the shelter, and I’m all set to go visit ‘the vet’ (who is this ‘vet’ person anyway?”- the word going around at the shelter from the other dogs is that you visit, the ‘vet’ is really nice, then you take a nap, and nothing is the same when you wake up-but, you are happier) Just another car ride and a new friend if you ask me! Anyway, since I am a bit on the big (husky, solid ) size, I would really do a lot better with older kids. I think that I could do well with other dogs, as long as I have some time to meet them first. Cats? I’m not sure- I may have to get back to you on that one. I do know commands though, and I’m very gentle with taking cookies. I’m also house trained. Did I mention that car rides are great too? I love going for hikes and would be a great camping dog (No sleeping on the ground though- I need my own bed) I’m also not all that thrilled about the snow-indoors, toasty warm with some toys and friends is fine with me. I will save my outdoors time for the warmer weather. All in all, I’m just a big lug nut who is happiest being lazy and loved.” Available after 1/27/10.
