Tig is a 1 year old American Bulldog with a huge heart who seems to be content in practically any situation, from the park to the car or the pet store. He is currently living with two other dogs, and gets along great with them. He loves to meet new people and dogs. Affection is his number one priority, so he will need someone willing to spend a lot of time loving him! Your lap will probably be his seat of choice. Tig is great with kids, and actually really seems to enjoy being around them. He has a really laid back attitude and is a low-energy guy, so even small children would be fine with him. Training has come easily with him and he is quickly learning commands every day. So far he has learned sit, stay, down, and 'stay on your spot' reliably, and although he prefers a treat reward he is getting better about responding without them. He has done well with crate-training, and leash-walking is easy with him as well. He enjoys short walks, and wont pull unless he sees a bird or squirrel. His prey drive is pretty strong, so he probably wouldn't do well in a home with cats. Tig will need an owner that will give him gentle leadership, since he can get scared easily if you. Anyone will be lucky to have this guy as a part of their family! It will be hard for you not to fall in love as soon as you meet him. Vet references will be checked, all current pets must be up to date on vaccines and spayed or neutered unless actively showing or there is a valid reason for not being altered. Upon approval, a home visit will take place, adoption fee is secured and transfer of dog will be completed.
