Description:
Dakota-girl is a wonderful gal in need of a new home. She came in with Dakota-boy in early October as their owner was unable to keep them both due to a change in living circumstances. Dakota-girl was born in May of 1999 so she is now 10 1/2 years old. She's way, way overweight so as soon as she settled in she went on a strict diet. Right now she tips the scales at 128 lbs and her correct weight should be 75-80 lbs. So why does she have the same name as her buddy Dakota-boy? He was named Dakota as a puppy. She was rescued when she was about 5 years old and her name was also Dakota. Rather than change her name she just became known as Dakota-girl. DG is a very friendly and outgoing girl and loves everybody. She is good with cats and kids and just wants to be the party girl. She's been mostly an outdoor dog as has Dakota-boy so a little refresher on housetraining may be needed. It would be nice if we could place her with Dakota-boy but we think she'd do just fine on her own. She does have a little wart on her right eye-lid that doesn't bother her at all so we will not be attempting any surgery to remove it.
