Bailey is a very sweet 10 year old boy who came to us from a neglect case in another county. Thankfully one of our rescue friends was able to bring this boy up to us on St Patrick's Day. Since this poor dog had no name we decided that since it was St Paddy's Day we would pick a name that suited the day. Guinness was one choice and Bailey was another. Bailey responded to 'Bailey' so that's how he got his name. Bailey has been kept out on a short tie-out all of his life. Never got to go inside the house, never got to play or go for walks. His coat was in horrible shape and it took several hours to work his collar out of his matted fur and it took 3 baths to get the horrible smell out of him. He looked like he had a sable coat until we got a closer look. The ends of his guard hairs have been burned from overexposure to the sun so it will take a couple of coat blows to get him to the gray and white he should have. He is very tidy in his indoor run so housetraining at some point may be fairly easy. Now that he's had some time to settle in his personality is starting to shine through. For being so neglected and starved for attention, Bailey is very sweet and mellow. He only goes one least until the weight comes off. When he was let out in the big play yard for the first time he didn't know what to think of being able to move more than a few feet and not having to be on a short chain. He has definitely decided he likes the play area but even better he is really loving the tons of attention he gets from us. Bailey does make a growly sound when you love on him but we are now 100% certain this is his way of saying 'Hey I love this! Please keep petting me!' He's woo wooing now too. If you live near Muskegon and would like to meet him, he'd love to meet you too. The more people he's exposed to the more socialized he will be.......I'm sure he'd love to 'talk' to you too.
