Jasmine is a two year old, Border Collie-Akita mix who came to Second Chance because many changes in family life were too much for her to handle. Originally adopted from a New York State shelter, Jasmine was extremely loved and well cared for. Shy at first, Jasmine needs to slowly and gradually warm up to new people and situations. She has a particularly hard time with strangers and should never be the greeter at the front door. She can be aloof, timid and fearful, but these are traits that can subside with extensive socialization in the adoptive home. Continued crate training, very extensive socialization and reinforcement of known obedience would be extremely helpful for Jasmine to be the best dog that she can become. We recommend a quiet and understanding, adult only home, preferably with a doggy-sibling to help Jasmine increase her confidence. If you are looking to give a needy girl just what she needs and deserves, then come and meet our blossom, Jasmine!
