This is an adorable male colony of Goos. There are 3 brothers. We love Goos here at CritterCafe. Please know this is a pet needing lots of LOVE and special care. Their cage needs cleaning often. They need at least 13 inch safety wheels that may need replacing-because they are chewers. They need a dust house that they can take dust baths in as desired. They need pellets that have additional VitaminC as it is thought they do not manufacture their own-not unlike a guinea pig! They also need timothy hay in unlimited amounts and vegetables and enjoy the occasional nut/seeds. This is a pet that chatters and squeaks and is so enjoyable to watch and listen to....many degus are fast and fearful of people-please know this is not really a pet you will hold, hug and groom whilst enjoying a tv show...it is a pet to watch and enjoy giving treats to and occasionally holding but I usually leave them be and have a long winded conversations together together with them...they love that...and they love being treated from your hand too and watch and squeak to you for treats in a cool form of degu begging.Degus cannot be grabbed or held by their tail-it will break off if this species is mishandled which is very unfortunate-this species really requires an adult to supervise.Their tails in the wild break off to save them from a predator's eating them so to see them as a pet with a broken tail is disheartening and again shows that you and I and everyone needs and should get educated before considering having a new pet that we are not familiar with..
God bless our pets!M.Gandhi said 'The greatness of a nation and its MORAL PROGRESS can be judged by the way its animals are treated'.SPEAK UP FOR THOSE THAT CANNOT!
