Description:
Visit me in person! I'm currently at the Petsmart located at 5050 SE 14th in Des Moines. My name is Ava Mae but most people call me Mae Mae...and I know my name. I am a petite, little female cat (5.1 lbs) with a beautiful soft, thick coat. I am very sweet and would like to find an inside-only home where I can be safe and warm...and keep my claws. I LOVE to play with toys, don't mind other cats at all, and get along fine with dogs. I like to sleep with you on the bed, curled up behind your knees, and always want to be where it is warm...check out the photo of me sleeping next to the heat register...that's my favorite spot when I can't be snuggling next to you in bed! Ava Mae showed up on a volunteer's porch and decided the food was good, the kitty bed was great, and she wasn't going to leave. Because she is a stray, her age is unknown but we are guessing around 1-2 years. Ava Mae has had a toothache and and infection in her mouth but recently had a teeth cleaning and the bad teeth pulled. She is feeling much better now. Thank goodness the volunteer noticed her ouchy tooth! Ava Mae is one of the lucky, unwanted stray cats that was found by a kind-hearted person. The adoption fee is $55 which includes alteration (spay/neutered), vaccination (first shots/age appropriate), microchipping, de-worming, and testing for FIV/FeLk (she was negative). We are asking for interested parties to fill out a pre-adoption questionnaire prior to lining up an appointment to see the animal at the animal's home.
Please note: Upon approval of the pre-adoption questionnaire, we will request a homevisit prior to completing the adoption. Panora P.E.T.S. supports the 'Paws Need Claws' Campaign. Cats are rather attached to their claws; please do not de-claw your cats.
Panora P.E.T.S.: Panora P.E.T.S. is a division of A.P.E. (the Animal Protection and Education Charity) of Greene County. P.E.T.S. does not have a shelter; we list animals in need from Guthrie County because there is no shelter within Guthrie County. P.E.T.S. lists available animals as a public service for our local communities. Want to help an animal, but you are not able to adopt? You may give A.P.E. a tax-deductible donation via PayPal.
