Niles was born to a mama cat that wandered up to a family's home, they could not afford to keep them, but didnt want to see them carted off by Animal Control, so they tried their best to care for them, but money was tight and they were not able to feed them much. They finally found us and asked for help. We were so sad to see such skinny cats and kittens but knew the family was trying their best. We got the cats and kittens into our care and they are normal weights now and ready for a family. Niles is very busy with his days of playing with anything that moves. He is very sweet and follows his foster mom around but is not crazy about being held but that could change as he gets older, he is just very busy right now! He gets along great with other cats and is laid back in whatever the other cat(s) want is A-OK with him! Niles, boy, born approx 12/08. (in his picture, you can see hair loss, but it is quickly improving with his good nutrition ) HELP Humane Society Inc. is a non-profit organization currently run by a small group of animal lovers in Cass County, MO (just south of Kansas City). All HELP animals are treated by veterinarians, receive age appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, spayed/neutered and those incoming after Oct 2005, have been micro chipped. Cats have been FeLV/FIV tested and are negative unless otherwise stated. Dogs have been heartworm tested and are on heartworm preventative. HELP now has a no-kill shelter. HELP does not take in any owner relinquished animals. HELP rescues stray dogs and cats from the streets. We have been told by many adopters that the reason they liked adopting form us is because we have a happy place and all the cats are the friendliest ones they had ever met. HELP feels that ALL animal’s are worth saving. We have many FIV and FeLV+ cats in our care. They will live with us until they end their life’s journey or find a permanent home.
