Pablo is a very special cat. He was turned in to the shelter because his owner said he had diabetes, though he wasn’t on any medicine when she brought him. After visiting the vet, it was determined that Pablo is in fact diabetic and will require insulin for the rest of his life. Luckily, he doesn’t seem to mind being poked twice a day, as long as you reward him with a treat. He loves to eat his special diabetic food, especially the canned kind, and he’ll need to be on a special diet for life too.
Because of his special circumstances, Pablo will have to have an owner who is willing to continue this treatment. Without it, he will die. He’s eleven years old, but he has a lot of life left in him and deserves a great home. An owner who has experience with diabetic animals would be ideal, but Pablo would consider anyone who can keep him healthy. He will need routine bloodwork every three to four months to ensure that his diabetes is being maintained, and as earlier stated, insulin and diabetic food for life.
We know Pablo sounds like a real handful (and he won’t be cheap either!), but he is a loving, affectionate cat who would make any family happy. He loves to snuggle up to you in bed, and he even still plays with toys when he gets in the mood! He’s been declawed on all four feet, so he is definitely indoors-only.
If Pablo is pulling on your heartstrings, please give him a chance to prove he’s worth your time and money. He’s just lost his family; will you give him another one? Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call Holly at 360-5289 if you want to learn more about Pablo or how you can adopt him.
