6-07-08 Been a busy week in rescue!!! Got a frantic phone call from a young lady at the local youth home. They had found a very injured cat and needed help. Shane is very, very thin and both his front legs have been chewed up. Maybe from a mower or some kind of fan? Hard to tell what happened to him but can only hope it was accidental and not done on purpose? He has suffered too long alone and in pain and is soooo grateful to be rescued!Unfortunately he tested positive for FeLV/FIV both. This would be a death sentence in most places but oh what a sweet boy he is! A nicer cat you'll never meet. He does not want to die and we won't have to make that choice as the wonderful people at C and W shelter in Nashua have agreed to take him! He will be able to live out his life in the comfort of a loving home!!! Sad update: Poor Shane passed away after only a short time at C and W. Unfortunately we didn't get to him in time and he was just too sick. He wasn't in any pain anymore and he was safe and loved. Sweet dreams big guy...see you at the Rainbow Bridge.
