Beautiful Maine Coon Mix Cat Seeks Adoring Family Bartelby is a male brown tabby Maine Coon / domestic long hair mix, born in the spring of 2006. Bartelby is a rescue from a large house with several apartments in East Syracuse. Bartelby and some other abandoned and stray pets were living in the attic. One of the tenants found them and brought Bartelby and some of the other attic cats to Kitty Corner so that they could find a forever home. Bartelby is reserved with strangers -- his years of being a throw away have made him wary of people he does not know. He won't come over to greet strangers, but he won't run away from a stranger either. He will calmly watch a potential adopter interact with other cats and evaluate if you're 'safe'. Once he's decided you're OK, you can come over to him and he will welcome the attention. You can wrap your arms around him, pet him and cover him with kisses, and he will lean into you and puuurrrrr. Bartelby is affectionate to people who are known to him that he is comfortable with. He doesn't seem to be a lap cat though, he seems to prefer to sit alongside of you. Bartelby gets along OK with the other cats here. He enjoys but does not require their company. Bartelby could do well either as an only cat in the family, or as a companion for a family feline member looking for a friend. Bartelby is looking for a family that will love and keep him forever.
