Metrowest Animal Awareness Society is an all volunteer, no-kill cat rescue group serving the Marlborough/Hudson area. Our cats are 'lap fostered' in our homes!
Vern is a total love. He is a grey long-haired Main Coon mix that had been living in a hole under a printing shop in Leominster for over a year! We had to shave his entire chest & tummy because it was one solid matt.
Vern is so excited to be in a warm home getting love. He rolls around in his big bed and massages it (see video). All he wants to do is give you love and attention. He is a true rescue and will show you just how much he appreciates you.
Vern has been fully vetted, but sadly, tested positive for FIV (feline immune deficiency). FIV can't be transmitted to people or dogs. It can only be transmitted to other cats, but it is very hard to do so. It is transfered by blood to blood contact, so Vern was bitten by an infected cat when he was lost/ abandoned. But he is such a teddy bear, I know someone will fall in love with him. Vern in very docile, so won't be an issue.
He is good with kids and has even been fine with my dogs.
OUR KITTEN POLICY: Kittens under the age of 6 months need other cats for social development and fewer behavioral problems - and they keep each other company when people aren't around. So, we adopt out kittens in pairs, or with their charming momcats, or into home already having a young or active cat. All of our cats are tested for FeLV/FIV, up to date on vaccinations, and spay/neutered before adoption. The adoption fee is $150 for kittens, $100 for adults.
