The cats we call Forget-Me-Nots had hard lives before they came to the shelter. Some were victims of abuse, some were abandoned and forced to fend for themselves. And a few were born outside but were fortunate enough to have a caregiver of sorts that helped them survive. Given their history, we are still in awe of their courage as they learned to live among people once they arrived at the shelter. These cats are not aggressive, but they are still shy and frightened during early encounters with people they don’t know. But they do like attention, many like to be brushed and petted. Some will be very happy to sit beside you, but they have not reached the point where they are at ease with being picked up nor are they ready to be lap cats. But we have reason to believe that if they find a home with people who are gentle and patient, who will take the time to build their trust, these cats will reward you with a love and a loyalty that can only be called a gift. Won’t you take a look at the stories of these cats and consider them for your home? Please look at the entries of the following Forget-Me-Nots and think about how you might take care of each other!
