Description:
Greetings gentle people. Mr. Marx here, acting as spokescat for myself and my best friend Cosby. We were both named after famous comedians, though our lives prior to coming to stay at Howard County Cat Club's group home were anything but amusing. And we're certainly not laughing now. We've both been here so long. We want a real home with people who love us more than you can imagine.
I started out in a home with way more cats than was healthy for anyone. Things started to look up when a rescue volunteer helped my person adopt out most of the cats and she decided to keep just four of us. Then along came a new boyfriend who didn't like cats - it was either he goes or we go. Guess who lost?
Cosby honestly has no clue why HIS last family sent him away - and separated him from his best cat friend. At least they did give him up to another no-kill shelter, but that shelter was forced to shut down. Cosby and the other cats then went to live in cages at a veterinary hospital. He was there - living behind bars! - for TWO YEARS before joining me and the others at HCCC.
We're kindred spirits, Cosby and I, and have formed a very close attachment here at HCCC. We didn't even realize how lonely we were for a special cat friend until we 'found' each other. We're looking forward to the day we find that special human family to call our own - but together please!
We're both rather shy at first with strangers, but warm up to gentle, loveable purr machines once we get to know you! As you can see from our pictures, we both enjoy spending some time outdoors with nature, so a 'strictly indoor' home would not do for us.
