10/06 (read the update at the end) Jacob is part of a large litter of eight. Jacob is a twin of his sister Jasmine another all black kitten. There are another two that are twins that are darker tabbies, males, George & Jerry. These poor souls were born into filthy conditions in a broken down garage. The garage was falling apart, no place to keep warm or cool in the weather. They were sleeping in their own feces and each one had severe upper respitory infections and conjunctivitis in their eyes. They could barely open their eyes when they were found by one of our volunteers. Sadly three did not survive. They were found at 7 weeks and already hissing, timid and full of fear. They've been socialized by each volunteer and been in a home enviroment (foster home) since then. They've come along way. 5/09 We've had Jacob ever since he was 10 weeks old back in 2006, however he was the only kitten is his litter to not come around. The past three years, we've been socializing him as he wanted nothing to do with the human touch. But now, being in our store, he has really come around. He feels at home there. Jacob really needs other cats around to feel secure and comfortable. In a new home, Jacob will take some time to get use to his surroundings, (we recommend he stays in one room for a few weeks, ex. bedroom, office etc) As you can see from his pictures, his personality does shine through! Just llok at how comfortable he is lounging around on the floor and the picture of him wrapped around the tree post. He really does relax and learn to live amongst the rest of us, he just needs someone that understand this to adopt him. He needs a true 'cat person' to come along, one who knows that it will take him a little while to get use to his new surroundings, but that he will come around. If you come to meet him, come first thing when we open or at the end of the day when we are closed and not many people are on our store. When it's quiet and feeding time, Jacob comes out more looking for attention and when you approach him slowly with turkey cold cuts, he comes right up to you to eat it from your hand.
