Cupid is an adorable little dilute calico who came to us in December of 2000 at 8 months old. She is still very timid, but totally non-aggressive. Although it would require time and patience, she can become a sweet furry friend for the right family. She loves other cats and would probably be happiest going home with a kitty friend.
Cupid is a semi-feral cat. Semi-feral cats were either born outside or became lost or abandoned so had to learn to fend for themselves. In either case, they have not had recent, positive relationships with people and tend to be shy around strangers, loud sounds and fast movement. Here at the shelter we have worked with them to begin establishing trust again and though it is a long, slow process, our cats have each taken steps in the right direction. Adopting one of these cats will require you to provide a quiet environment with no young children and generally another cat for companionship. With time, patience and plenty of TLC, we expect these animals to find their way to a happier, more social and trusting relationship with their caregivers. Please ask about these wonderful cats. Well provide you with a realistic assessment of their current situation and expectation for the future.
