Description:
Chester is a unique longhaired orange tabby. He is about 2 years old and is a large cat. His tail is super thick and he has quite a thick coat as well. He will need regular brushing to keep it free from mats. He has fabulous amber eyes. Chester has what's called polydactyly, which means he has extra toes. He has 2 thumbs on each front paw, and according to Wikipedia 'enables the cat to learn and perform feats of manual dexterity generally not observed in non-polydactyl cats, such as opening latches or catching objects with a single paw.' It's very unusual to look at, but it doesn't change the way he walks or moves. Chester doesn't like the dogs at the shelter, but if he were introduced properly to a quiet, calm dog, he may do fine. He is already neutered and will be vaccinated prior to adoption.
The Pepin County Humane Society has been in business for close to 30 years. We are a very small shelter with only 5 dog kennels & 9 cat kennels. Fees for adoption are as follows: *DOGS-$116.00 includes Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vax, Heartworm Test, Fecal test, Deworming & ID Tag. *CATS-$96.00 includes Spay/Neuter, Feline Leukemia Test, Fecal test, Rabies and Distemper vaccines & De-worming.
