Caliope is a darling little calico cat who was left behind in an abandoned home. She was fed periodically by a concerned neighbor for about a month before being collected and transferred to rescue at the request of the sheriff's department.
She loves attention, and gets along quite peaceably with both dogs and other cats. She tolerated her bath like a champion--sitting politely and purring while being lathered.
Unfortunately, she's been quite run-down by her time on her own. She's been shaved due to severe matting, treated for fleas, and put on a good food, but is very underweight (up to 5 1/2 pounds after a couple weeks of steady food!). She tested negative for leukemia, but does have some increases in kidney values that might indicate a kidney disease. Right now she mostly needs love and time, and a special diet that's easy on her kidneys, but that kidney problem may progress.
All of our adoptions are by (tax-deductible) donation. For more information or to adopt little Caliope, please contact Jes at (509)690-7343 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
