Metrowest Animal Awareness Society is an all volunteer, no-kill cat rescue group serving the Marlborough/Hudson area. Our cats are 'lap fostered' in our homes!
I'm Mr. C, a Blue Point Cornish Rex! You will not meet a more charming, or louder gentleman cat! I was rescued from an abusive owner, then surrendered to the vet because I didn't use the box - well there were 4 of us sharing 1 box, wouldn't you mind that? The vet's office has been great - all of my senior bloodwork is perfect, no issues with my thyroid or kidneys, my urine is great - even my teeth are in decent condition! My current foster mom has 3 Devon Rex cats of her own, and couldn't resist taking me in. I have a magnificent coat, though before I was surrendered, part of it was shaved - the original rescuer's daughter decided she'd practice her grooming skills, and now I'm even more chilled! But, my great curly coat shows on my regal head, long tail, and gangly legs.
I am older than 7 years - the vet has estimated perhaps 10. I use the litter box well for urine, but I admit in my foster home that I do deposit firm poops outside the box - I may need multiple boxes. (My foster mom isn't troubled by this at all - she says it's easy to pick up, and doesn't stink!) Looks also as if I am quite hard of hearing - I'll yell for attention, and then wrap around my foster family's legs when I see them!
So if you want a mature fellow, who will lavish you with love, take ME home!
(Oh, how do we know I'm a Cornish Rex? A professional cat judge specializing in Rex breeds has evaluated the pics, and says I'm a VERY pet quality Cornish - Humphh!)
OUR KITTEN POLICY: Kittens under the age of 6 months need other cats for social development and fewer behavioral problems - and they keep each other company when people aren't around. So, we adopt out kittens in pairs, or with their charming momcats, or into home already having a young or active cat.
All of our cats are tested for FeLV/FIV, up to date on vaccinations, and spay/neutered before adoption. The adoption fee is $150 for kittens, $100 for adults. The best, and fastest way to reach us is e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org.
