Humane Society of Calloway County P. O. Box 764 607 Poplar Street Murray, Kentucky 42071 270-759-1884 humanesociety@murray-ky.net www.forthepets.org The Adoption Donation for our mature cats (those over the age of 4) is $50.00. Faith is 5 years old. The more mature kitties have a lot of years of love and joy to give someone, however, are often overlooked due to their not being a kitten anymore. This is why we have chosen to reduce their adoption donation. Faith has recently been tested and was negative for feline leukemia/FIV testing. The testing is conducted in a vet clinic and results are available for an adopter to verify. She has also received the following vaccinations: FVRCP and feline leukemia and a rabies vaccination. She is spayed and microchipped. She is housetrained and has been an indoor kitty. My Story: FAITH is a Pretty girl with Tabby markings. She looks as if she is wearing little white pants and has a Marilyn Monroe type of birthmark on her face. She is a little pudgie, but not overweight. Her coat is short, but very thick and plush. Faith was originally brought into our cat adoption program in 2005. She was in need of veterinary care and was at the local animal shelter. We took her into our care and had her taken care of, spayed and updated on all care. Faith was adopted into a home a few months later. Sadly, after almost 4 years, whe was surrendered back to the animal shelter when her owners had a baby. Faith was devastated to be turned into the shelter. We took Faith back into our foster system when she contracted a cold at the shelter. Because they have difficulty isolating sick animals, she may not have made it so we chose to board her at the vet and get her the care she needed until we could place her in a foster home. Faith is in need of a home that will, hopefully, be lasting and loving. She would prefer a Quieter Home, one with fewer to no other pets, Indoor Only and with older or no children. Cat Adoption Guidelines: You must fill out an application to be considered for adoption. Please email us at humanesociety@murray-ky.net for an application or call the office at 270-759-1884. Hours are M-Th 10-3. The application can then be sent via email to the same address or sent to our office. You can also download the application from our site on the internet at www.forthepets.org. Please, serious inquiries only. This is not a “first come” process, we try to match the cat or kitten with a home that will be a Forever Home. We are a small group of volunteers that have full-time jobs outside of our work for the humane society and our time is valuable. The time to process an application can vary depending on the availability of the Cat Adoption Team, the information provided on the application (whether it is Completely filled out) and the number of applicants for that pet. We try to process them in as timely a fashion as possible. We do consider out-of-state adoptions, however, we do not fly or ship our cats due to heat/cold concerns and safety issues. If you are willing to fly out AND fly the cat back in the cabin with you, that would be considered. If you apply to adopt a cat and are selected, you must come to Murray, KY to pick up the cat and fill out the paperwork in person. Most likely, if you are selected and come to Murray to meet the kitty, the adoption will be approved. However, this is not 100%, as we cannot be certain that the cat and you will click in person. Therefore, you would not be committed to the adoption, nor would we should either party feel that it was not a good match. If the application process goes this far, however, more than likely it will be a success! ADOPTION GUIDELINES You must fill out an application to be considered for adoption. Please email the Cat Adoption Coordinator at paws2consider@yahoo.com for an application or the Dog Adoption Coordinator at dboaz@wkblue.net.
