Oscar is a 4 year old dachshund. His current owner is experiencing some health issues and feels it is in Oscar's best interest to rehome him although she hates to see him go. Oscar requires a safe, secure, fenced-in yard, where he can run and play while supervised, but is an inside dog - must not be allowed to live outside. Homes without a secure fence will not be considered for him. He enjoys playing fetch and tug-of-war but also loves a good tummy rub and cuddle time on the couch with his human companions. Oscar is a happy boy with lots of love and affection to give. He has not had much exposure to other dogs or cats so we're not sure if he'd prefer to be the only pet in his forever home, but a simple meeting can determine that. Oscar is neutered, current on all vaccinations and housetrained. He doesn't require much grooming, just baths and frequent nail trims. He is leash-trained and loves long walks. He loves human affection and would make a wonderful companion for the right loving home. We are looking for the perfect home for Oscar – someone who has a lot of time to spend with him. We’re looking for a family or person who will make him a member of the family and give him lots of love. His next home must be his FOREVER home.
