Barney is a 3yo male hound mix who was surrendered by his owner who didn't want him anymore. Barney is a little bit shy at first but warms up to newcomers quickly. Has a medium-low activity level. Loves to run and play outside, but then settles down quickly in the house. Likes to go for walks, loves to be with people, enjoys being petted and brushed. Likes to chase our cats, has never hurt them, but the cats don't like it so not recommended for a home with cats. Great with kids and other dogs. Recommended for children 6 years and older. Good on a leash, rides great in the car. Knows basic commands. Housebroken and crate-trained. No issues such as separation anxiety, counter surfing or barking. Barney has heartworms when we got him but he was treated without complications and is now ready for adoption. Weighs about 55#, healthy, altered and utd on shots. Here's a note from his foster mom: 'Barney is an easy, low maintenance dog because he's so grateful for being loved and cared for. He was mistreated by his former owner so he's sometimes a little bit shy with men initially. He has a quiet and humble personality, is grateful for food, for attention, for walks and for being inside with his foster family. He's not hyper and not a lot of work, juat an easy dog who is great to have around. Barney craves human attention and acceptance, is so eager to please, a sweet sweet dog who deserves a family who will appreciate and love him.'To adopt please fill out an adoption application. For more information about our adoption procedures and fees, please visit our homepage at Good Dog Rescue. For more information or if your have questions email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
