Conner is handsome boy estimated to be 2 years old. He is about 11 inches high at the shoulder, 12' from chest to haunches and weighs about 10-12 pounds. He has striking gold eyes that seem to search your soul. Connor was rescued from a high-kill shelter on what was probably his last day. His card read 'Rode in cab with Animal Control Officer but couldn't be touched'. He was cowering towards the rear of the kennel, trembling & avoiding eye contact. When he was placed in a home environment, he became a totally different 'person'. He is so friendly! Sometimes he even whines a little when he is in his bed & he sees you approaching him like he is so happy someone is going to show him some attention. His tail wags & he makes good eye contact. He likes to sit in your lap & curl up. He is not food aggressive, but will give a soft growl to other dogs that approach while he is eating. If another dog is at the bowl, he will wait patiently until they are finished. He appears to be housebroken & will go to the door & whine to be let out. He gets along well with the 4 other dogs & 2 cats in the house. So far, he hasn't barked much. He has been neutered & is being treated for worms. He also has tested positive for heartworms & is being treated with heartworm preventative, which is much gentler on the dog. He is very thin, but expected to gain weight easily with regular food & riddance of the intestinal worms. Like many little dogs he does have a 'trick knee', but it doesn't bother him much and he can get around just fine.Connor recently began fear biting. He's great as long as he's able to approach you on his own time. He loves his foster mom and loves other people too when he isn't pushed or feeling threatened. He also began having seizures about a month ago. He's now on medication to try and control them. so far it seems to be helping a great deal. Connor isn't for everyone but i know somewhere out there someone could help him realize not everyone is bad, or will hurt him. Are you the one to help Connor see that life can be a wonderful thing full of love and not abuse?? If so email us for more information. He is doing better with fearfulness as he is being introduced to more people.
