UPDATE 3/30- Max is doing wonderfully here at the rescue! He's great with other dogs and loves to play in the water. He will be going to training next week where he will learn all basic obedience commands and will be taught how to live in the house!
Max is a gorgeous 1.5 year old 80lb German Shepherd boy who was surrendered to our rescue when the family that owned him and his 'sister' Paloma, decided that their teenage son was more into girls than the dogs, so they decided to get rid of the dogs. Max and Paloma spent most of the first year of their lives living in a 10 x 10 jerry-rigged wood 'crate' and had never seen the world outside of their yard. They had never been on a leash, never worn a collar and had VERY minimal socialization with people outside the family they lived with. Surprisingly, Max is very social with every person he meets and LOVES to go for walks with any volunteer or staff willing to take him. He is a sweet and wonderful boy. He is so far good with the dogs he's been introduced to, but would probably do best with a female if he were to go into a family with another dog. He is fine with cats and kids. We are working on his basic obedience and so far, he has picked everything up no sweat. Max is up to date on shots, neutered, microchipped, and comes with a free month of pet insurance. Adoption fee $300.
