PetStyle Exclusive: Holly Madison's Puppy Love & Loss

Holly Madison

Like all deaths, there are various stages of grief. I do get angry sometimes because I just don't understand life and what goes wrong. How can such terrible things happen to such beautiful creatures?  Why did Duke have to wander off that day? Why did it have to be snowing? After my anger subsides, I like to celebrate the animal's life with some of the great photos that I had the privilege of shooting. So let's celebrate Duke.

Being a celebrity pet photographer and working with so many different people and their pets,  I deal with this several times a year with a phone call from someone telling about the loss of their pet, and it is something I will never get used to. The greatest consolation I can offer is the photos that we shared with that person and their pets.

Whether it's a dog, cat, bird, hamster, fish or mouse, it is hard to lose our pets. If there was a way I could change the formula of life and let animals live the life that humans have I would.

What a much better place this world would be if we all learned the love, respect and loyalty that our pets could teach us. I want to stop telling people they are 'Gone Way Too Soon.'
