Pointers are sweet natured with an alert congenial disposition. They are very elegant and easy to train, which makes them a favorite with pointer enthusiasts and families with children. Their thin coat is not suited to cold weather, a temperate climate is best. They require daily exercise to keep them happy.

A Pointer?s coat is short, smooth and shiny. They have ongoing shedding, but aside from that require minimal grooming. Pointers can be a solid color, liver, lemon, black, or orange in combination with white.

Pointers are excellent family dogs.

Trivia:
